Follow Your Heart

I believe that one defines oneself by reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone. Henry Pollin.

It takes courage to live. Even more to live on your own terms. The grip that family, friends and society at large have on you is enormous. Loosening that grip can be the hardest thing you have ever done.

Life works in strange ways. Sometimes, for a small number of people like you, there comes an uninvited disruption, an unexpected event, a surprise meeting with a stranger, a health issue you weren’t expecting… when you feel, deep in your bones, that you must let go of the life you planned and walk down a new path. To follow your heart, wherever it takes you, come what may.

It will take courage, more than you thought you ever had. Only you can take that first, all-important step.

The people who love you won’t mind and the those who mind don’t matter.
