We Are All Connected
When a child is born, it has no concept of the colour it is living in. Youssou N’Dour.
Like a pair of giant needles, technology and globalization have knitted us together, impacting on every aspect of our lives.
Whether we are living in Toronto, Toledo or Timbucto, we’re all living in a global village now, interconnected, interdependent and demanding we broaden our world view.
Broadly speaking, a view world is a set of expectations and biases we have formed that shape how we see and feel about people in other nations – each with their own set of values, customs and mores.
Accommodation isn’t always easy but as distances and time continue to shrink, it is good to remember that most of us, regardless of where we stand on the globe, are just trying to get through the day, striving to stay alive, better our conditions, to do the best by our families and those for whom we care.
We are not the same, pf course. Our cultures, religions, educational backgrounds and societal differences can make strangers of us – but only if we let them.
The songs we sing, the stories we tell, sounds and words that to others can sound foreign, even threatening. Still, as the world gets smaller, we need to make the effort to narrow the gap, remembering that a stranger is only a person whose story or song we have never heard – until we are willing to listen.

The Dance of Life
Greatness is not where we stand, but in the direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind, sometimes against it, but sail we must; and not drift, nor lie at anchor. Oliver Wendell Holmes.
These are uncommon times, changing and challenging. Things are not always as they seem. Uncertainty and fear are creeping around the edges, sniffing at the centre.
Life isn’t easy. We all face barriers and hardships of one kind or another and have setbacks occasionally. That’s how life goes. It’s the familiar dance – one step forward, two steps back.
The trick is to keep dancing with the fierce urgency of now. That’s what warriors do.

Building A Business Takes Time
Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become. Steve Jobs.
Last week Apple became the first company in history to reach a market capitalization of $1 trillion.
It all started 42 years ago in Steve Jobs parent’s garage and Steve Wozniak’s apartment.
There are a very few overnight successes. In an age of instant everything, we forget that building a business takes courage, determination, hard work, belief in yourself, persistence… and time.
